Annual Golf Tournament

Event Description:  The Beaufort Academy Blue & White Booster Club and the Thomas H. Horton, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Committee have teamed up for our annual Golf Tournament - The Thomas H. Horton, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament!  This year the event was extended with the Friday night basketball games.  Tom's friends and relatives, and BA alumni, joined us to cheer on the Eagles the night before the golf tournament!

With the money raised from this event we continue to provide students with the best opportunities available, both in expanding their knowledge of the world through the annual scholarship*, and right here at home in their athletic endeavors through the Blue & White Club.  This year's event raised $15,000!  Thank you to everyone who sponsored, golfed, volunteered, and supported this event!

Location: South Carolina National golf course
Cost: $100 per golfer

*The Horton Memorial Scholarship was established to commemorate the contributions of Tom Horton to the study of English literature and to the development of the minds and characters of Beaufort Academy students.  Grateful family members, students, colleagues and friends have come together to celebrate Tom's contributions and to ensure that his legacy lives on.  With a creative spirit, a giant heart, and the sense of humor required for a life devoted to teenagers, Tom dedicated his time and his talents to the students, parents, and teachers of Beaufort Academy for 23 years.  Each fall a rising BA sophomore, junior or senior will be awarded an annual scholarship funding participation in a summer study-abroad program.
