Beaufort Academy is a coeducational
independent college preparatory school of approximately
350 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12.
Founded in 1965, BA is accredited by the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools, and maintains
active membership in the National Association of
Independent Schools among others. The school focuses on
small class sizes and individual attention. As a college
preparatory school, BA’s curriculum and diploma
requirements provide all students with courses expected
by competitive colleges and universities.

- 100% of our graduates are accepted by four-year colleges and
universities. Currently, BA graduates are enrolled at Auburn
University, Boston University, California Polytechnic Institute,
Case University, Clemson University, Calhoun Honors College at
Clemson, College of Charleston, Elon, Furman, Georgia Tech,
Hamden-Sydney, Kent State University, Presbyterian, Rhodes, Roanoke
College, Rose Hulman, Sewanee, St Olaf, , Texas A&M, Tulane,
University of Colorado, University of Georgia, University of
Mississippi, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, University
of Pittsburgh, University of South Carolina, University of South
Carolina Honors College, U.S. Naval Academy, Virginia Tech, Wake
Forest, and Wofford College.
- In 2009 52 AP exams were administered to 29 students. The mean
score of all exams was a 3.8. All 10 students in the AP Biology
class took the exam and all scored 3 or above. The 10 students who
took the AP Language and Composition exam scored an average of 3.8,
all scored above a 3.
-In Class of 2010 two students are National Merit Semi Finalists and
one is a commended scholar.
- In each of the last 5 years students have received combined
college scholarship offers over $1,000,000 a year, including
National Merit Scholars, Heritage Scholars, Rotary Scholarships,
Kiwanis Scholarships, Palmetto Fellows and South Carolina LIFE
Awards.
- More than 75% of our Upper School students participate in school
enrichment programs including interscholastic athletics, drama
productions, chess club, quiz bowl, music programs and Interact.
- More than 50% of our faculty holds advanced degrees.
