AIMAR LIBRARY: The
Aimar Library is set aside as an area on campus for quiet research
and media instruction at all grade levels. Middle and Upper School
students wishing to use the library must be accompanied by a teacher
as part of a class assignment or must present a pass signed by a
teacher stating the purpose of the student's visit and the amount of
time required. This requirement applies to break and lunch periods
as well as class and study hall. Use of the Internet and computers
in the library requires students to read and abide by the Acceptable
Use policy as in the
Blue Book.The hours of the Aimar Library: Monday and Friday: 7:45 - 3:30 Tuesday - Thursday: 7:45 - 4:00 Library wikispace Group visits are scheduled in advance. Students in the Lower School may not be left unattended in the library after dismissal. The Aimar Library is staffed by: Gina Reilly, Head Librarian Evelyn Caldwell, Assistant Librarian The Aimar Library serves the needs of the entire Beaufort Academy community. The goal of the library is to provide materials and services appropriate to the curriculum of the school and that meet the information and recreational needs of the learning community. It is also the goal of the Aimar Library to provide opportunities for collaboration with other educators to incorporate information literacy into instruction. The library provides age and developmentally appropriate resources to meet the information needs of all users and promotes information literacy in the use of these resources. The library staff implements the media program into the curriculum through collaboration with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
