MIDDLE SCHOOL OVERVIEW:

Beaufort Academy Middle School consists of students in grades 5-8. The Middle School program is designed to establish a solid bridge between Lower School and Upper School so that each graduate will be equipped intellectually, morally, socially and emotionally to confront the challenges of higher education and beyond. The Middle School offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving. Bi-weekly enrichment programs in music and art, as well as interdisciplinary instruction, assist each student to embrace an appreciation of the arts. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of athletic teams: baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, softball, cheerleading and volleyball. Emphasis is placed on the development of the whole child to his/her greatest potential.

Small classes at Beaufort Academy ensure individual attention for each student. Academic subjects include English, mathematics, science, history, foreign language, computer, and physical education. All students in grades 5-7 take enrichment classes in Spanish. 8th grade students take Introductory Spanish as a daily scheduled class. Extra-curricular clubs such as drama, newspaper, chess, and music expand the students' involvement and interaction in the school environment and invite new opportunities for leadership emergence.
