(BAPA)
Beaufort Academy Parents' Association
HOW YOU CAN HELP
As a Beaufort Academy parent, you’re an essential part of the team that helps your child reach his/her fullest potential. All parents of students at Beaufort Academy are members of the Parents Association. It is a wonderful way to get involved with the life of the school and directly enhance your child’s BA experience. BAPA offers parents the opportunity to collaborate with other parents, faculty, and staff through a variety of events regarding educational objectives, community building, safety, and other important issues. It is also a vital and vibrant fundraising engine, which provides financial support to the school through its fundraising endeavors.
The mission of the Beaufort Academy Parents’ Association is to:
  • Educate parents about volunteer opportunities and other ways to support Beaufort Academy.
  • Facilitate parental involvement in the classroom and in other extracurricular activities at Beaufort Academy.
  • Communicate with parents and serve as the primary liaison for information about the school’s numerous events, including academic, athletic, artistic and social activities.
VOLUNTEERING

The Parents Association would be nothing without its dedicated parent volunteers. There are volunteer opportunities at all grade levels, time availabilities, levels of commitment, and areas of interest. A parent can serve as an executive board officer, a grade parent representative, or as a parent volunteer. Please look over the right column of this page to find contact information of all event chairs.

Another vital way to get involved is becoming active in our Blue and White Club. In addition, there are many opportunities to help out with the day-to-day operations of the school:

Events, School Fundraisers & Development/Alumni (
Contact Laurie Cooler or Abby Mitchell)
In the classroom (Contact individual teachers)

Parent volunteers are recognized each year in the following ways:

The Pat Calhoun Award is presented annually at the spring awards banquet to recognize a volunteer who has contributed significantly to the school’s athletic programs. The recipient is selected by vote of the coaching staff.

The Parent Volunteer Award is also presented at the awards banquet. The winner of this award is determined by vote of the faculty.
FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNITY EVENTS

The BA Parents Association works very hard on creating and coordinating events to help give back to the school and community that has given so much. These events are not only interactive and fun for all involved, but they help enhance the BA experience for the current and future students.

The BAPA provides direct financial support to the school, faculty, and students through its signature fundraising event the Chilly Bean Run. In addition to this exciting event, the parent association also organizes various activities including the Back to School BBQ BASH, Fall Festival, Teacher Appreciation Days, Annual Campus Cookout as well as informational meetings such as ADHD parent support groups.
