Why Beaufort Academy?

Through comprehensive and personalized instruction, BA seeks to inspire in each student a sense of responsibility to one’s self, the community, and the environment so that our students are positive contributors and leaders in the future. Beaufort Academy is proud to offer comprehensive, personalized instruction in a safe, civil, and diverse campus environment.

Two Unique Campuses

Voted 2023, 2024, and 2025 Silver “Best Private School in the Lowcountry”, Beaufort Academy is home to 330 students situated on two intimate campus environments; Preschool Campus (Pre-K2, Pre-K3 & Pre-K4) and Main Campus (Kindergarten through grade 12). Situated on a scenic 35-acre campus in rural Beaufort, South Carolina, our unique outdoor main campus offers an intimate environment that includes multiple academic buildings, library, gymnasium, athletic fields, tennis courts and a weight room. Our Preschool campus is located just a quarter mile from the main campus at 7 Fairfield Road. With five vibrant classrooms, updated restrooms outfitted for toddlers, a private shaded playground, garden, outdoor chalkboard, and a patio filled with trikes and basketball hoops, your child will feel at home.

Opportunity

Even though small, our student body is powerful. 100% percent of our Middle & Upper school students participate in a team sport, club, or committee and often juggle multiple commitments year round. Students participate not only because our school offers various opportunities, but it takes their participation in the group to be successful. Beaufort Academy cannot always compete with the different course offerings at schools with larger student body populations. This discrepancy does not leave our students any less prepared than their fellow constituents. Our students have the opportunity to achieve leadership positions and excel in sportsmanship, leadership, and time management while creating camaraderie amongst our student body.

The Small School Difference

Beaufort Academy focuses on small class sizes and individual attention. Our hallmark small class size gives our teachers the ability to really understand each student, tailor their learning experience and can thoroughly read and critique each student’s work with an emphasis on grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary. Our teachers are familiar with each student in and out of the classroom which makes the transition from grade to grade seamless and comfortable. A wonderful feeling of warmth and personal connection makes the experience of learning and life at BA second to none.
