• What is the Annual Fund?

  The Annual Fund is made up of hundreds of individual unrestricted gifts. These gifts are used to support the mission and create opportunities for our students. Whether you are a current family, grandparent, alumni, or friend of BA your support financially allows us to continue our tradition of excellence. It is a vital source of funding for every student’s BA experience.
  
  

  The Annual Fund runs annually from July 1 – June 30 and all gifts are tax-deductible.

• What does the Annual Fund support?

  The Annual Fund is essential for supporting a wide range of initiatives, including program development, faculty retention and salaries, professional development, counseling services, financial aid, library resources, science equipment, art supplies, technology, diversity efforts and much more. The Annual fund supports the dreams of our students, faculty, staff, and families.

• Why do we need the Annual Fund?

  Beaufort Academy is a nonprofit institution that depends on tuition, annual fund contributions, and additional revenue sources to sustain its daily operations. Beaufort Academy is committed to setting tuition at the most affordable level possible to broaden access to a BA education. Philanthropic support is essential to sustaining this affordability and enables the school to provide flexible tuition and financial assistance to qualified families.

• Why not just raise tuition to cover the gap?

  The Board of Trustees remains dedicated to ensuring that a Beaufort Academy education remains both affordable and accessible to all families.
  
  Support through the Annual Fund is essential to sustaining the hallmarks of a Beaufort Academy experience—including a diverse student body, outstanding faculty, small class sizes, and exceptional programs across academics, the arts, and athletics.

• What other ways can I support the Annual Fund?

  The Annual Fund is set up to receive gifts of stock, corporate matching gifts, as well as donations through Donor Advised Funds (DAF).

• I can only make a small gift; is that even worth it?

  Absolutely. Every gift—regardless of size—makes a meaningful impact on the Annual Fund. Each donor’s support reflects a strong belief in the school’s mission, vision, and leadership, while also helping to elevate our overall participation rates.

• Can gifts be designated for a specific purpose?

  While the Annual Fund focuses on securing unrestricted gifts to address the school’s most immediate and unforeseen needs, we are currently not directing contributions to specific projects. However, we welcome conversations about your philanthropic interests to ensure they align with the school’s strategic priorities and programmatic goals.
