Parents Association
A NOTE FROM THE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year, Eagles!
My name is Amanda Patel, and I am the President of our Parents’ Association, also known as BAPA. I’m writing this, ironically, in the peace and quiet of my home. What parent EVER says that? I do, because tonight my fourth grader is exhausted from an exciting first day.
Today, everything was right in Tula’s world. She was nurtured and loved by her friends, teachers, and Beaufort Academy parents. All of this happened because Beaufort Academy is more than just a school. More than a community.
Beaufort Academy is family.
We take the time to get to know one another. We commiserate in the hot glare summer drop offs and chat at Friday night football games. We chuckle at the kids during spirit week and brace ourselves for rat week. We give a standing ovation to our very own Blue Notes and pass tissues at graduation.
We choose to be here; we choose to be engaged.
We are BA Strong. We are BA Proud. We are BAPA.
We are family and family members always share good advice.
“Take the time to be here,” she said, “Sign up to volunteer. Do a bit more than you want. Accept the inconvenience. It’s rewarding, it’ll mean the world to your child, and someday soon they’ll be off on their own, not needing you anywhere near as much as now.”
Grab this moment, in other words, while you have it.
Let’s cherish each other.
What better goal could there be?
With Eagles Pride,
Amanda Patel, BAPA President

As a Beaufort Academy parent, you’re an essential part of the team that helps your child reach his/her fullest potential. All parents of students at Beaufort Academy are members of the Parents Association. It is a wonderful way to get involved with the life of the school and directly enhance your child’s BA experience. BAPA offers parents the opportunity to collaborate with other parents, faculty, and staff through a variety of events regarding educational objectives, community building, safety, and other important issues. It is also a vital and vibrant fundraising engine, which provides financial support to the school through its fundraising endeavors.

Parent volunteers are recognized each year in the following ways:
The Pat Calhoun Award is presented annually at the spring awards banquet to recognize a volunteer who has contributed significantly to the school’s athletic programs. The recipient is selected by vote of the coaching staff.
The Parent Volunteer Award is also presented at the awards banquet. The winner of this award is determined by vote of the faculty.
Visit the BAPA Events Page for more details.

We will have multiple parent informational meetings throughout the school year, so please come and learn about what is happening at Beaufort Academy and how we can all use our individual talents to ensure successful and fun events.
