South Carolina Attorney General Addresses Beaufort Academy

Beaufort Academy is proud to host Alan Wilson, South Carolina Attorney General on it's annual first day of school convocation this coming Monday, August 19th. The convocation will be held in the Beaufort Academy Gym at 8:45am and is open to the Beaufort community. The convocation has been a tradition Beaufort Academy has held onto for years. "It sets the tone of the new school year," says Lisa Gallagher, Director of Communications. "We have been lucky to welcome accomplished individuals that can relate to our students."

Last year, Beaufort Academy hosted US Paralympic Gold Medalist, Jack Wallace. Mr. Wallace shared his personal journey of adversity and perseverance which ultimately led to winning a gold medal at the 2018 US Paralympic Games. With his positive attitude and hard work, he achieved his lifelong dream at the young age of 20. Having Mr. Wallace share his story on the first day of school was a true enlightener for the students of Beaufort Academy.

This year's guest speaker, Alan Wilson will be discussing a popular issue that our youth faces today; bullying. Dan Durbin, Head of School, asserts "The Attorney General has a firm understanding of how bullying of any kind has a negative effect on our young people. We are pleased that he has made time to share his experiences with Beaufort Academy students. The first day of school is the perfect time for our students to be inspired by such an admired individual within the state of South Carolina."

The Beaufort community is invited to attend the convocation on Monday, August 19th. Convocation starts at 8:45am in the Beaufort Academy Gym. Beaufort Academy is located at 240 Sams Point Road, Beaufort SC 29907. If you have any questions, please contact Beaufort Academy at (843) 524-3393.
